If it is possible with server-side-modding...
1: ... for a flag to have something spawn when it is owned by one team, but nothing when the other team owns it...
2: ...to change the "ownership" of a spawn from one flag to another.

Then...
- Place the 3 Spitfire under the control of the 3 flags. (one Spitfire owned by north, one owned by south and one owned by east)
- Place the 3 BF109 under the control of the 3 flags. (one BF109 owned by north, one owned by south and one owned by east)
- Let the Spitfire spawn on allied airfield when, and ONLY when axis owns the flag.
- Let the BF109 spawn on axis airfield when, and ONLY when allies owns the flag.


This way...
A team having no flags would have 3 planes spawning on their airfield...
A team owning all flags would have 0(NIL) planes spawning on their airfield...

To decrease plane-impact of map I see thease solutions:

-Increase number of tank & Kettenkrads.
Best way to start off with imo, tanks and kkrads are mobile AA?s.
Also increases mobility.

-Decrease AA-spawn time.
Reducing the efficiancy of bombing it.

-Decrease respawn-rate of planes somewhat. (for starters every 20/40/... seconds instead of 10s...)
Changing the planes too much, _could_ make El Alamein loose alot of players... so handle this
factor with great carefullness.
Especially when allowing a situation where one team has planes, and the other team has not.
In this case... the balance of power will be irrevocably tilted and the team with the plane, will be close to invincible.
and will also be able to dis-allow any planes to the "plane-less" team.

Removing the planes alltogether, might be interesting to try....
Maybe "el alamein-only" could have 2 - 3 types of "el-alamein".. just like Desert combat has....

El Alamein Day one (normal)
El Alamein Day two (tanks only)
El Alamein Day three (reinformcements, lesser planes than "day one"

-Increase number of AAs.
Placing an extra AA at each flag-bunker-roof could help supress the over-all air-prowess.

I have yet to read the previous posts, but this is a quick rundown of the ideas
that Fl?stertute, Jan, Old and I talked about.



Moving east flag up to north-village
 - Good idea, since it relieves some preassure from the Allied HQ.

Adding Planes to north-village
 - Not a good idea, since it could tilt the game too much.

Adding B17 to north-village, while removing B17/Stuka from HQs
 - Good idea, since it will add some power to the owner of the flag.
 - But let either team who gets the B17, drive it.

Reduce carpet-length of B17
 - Excellent idea as-well.

Moving the Fighters away from the HQs
 - Not a good idea, since a it could make a large part of the team will go in a differant direction.
   (A level needs to make players _want_ to cooperate... even if for selfish reasons.)

Decreasing bombs in fighterplanes (if possible) to 5 or 3:
 - Would be !excellent!
 - Might even allow for more planes to be added, without impacting gameplay for tankers.

Moving a few of the spawnpoints of the airfield, away from the planes(ie, closer to the tanks)
 - I think this could reduce the number of TKs.

Adding more slots to the server
 - A good idea, !IF! and !ONLY IF! the server&connection can handle it.

Adding more hardware(jeeps & light tanks primarely)
 - A very good idea, since more things to kill = more action defend flags.
 - It will also make the the mere 2 planes/team having less of an impact on the total attacking force.


My, Gi-Jan?s and OldMan?s suggestion is as follows
 - Moving east flag up to north-village
 - Adding B17 to north-village, while removing B17/Stuka from HQs
 - Reduce carpet-length of B17
 - Decreasing bombs in fighterplanes (if possible) to 5 or 3
 - Moving a few of the spawnpoints of the airfield, away from the planes(ie, closer to the tanks)
 - I think this could reduce the number of TKs.
 - Adding more slots to the server
 - Adding more hardware(jeeps & light tanks primarely)
